This Privacy Policy explains how Corte Technologies LLC ("CORTE," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the CORTE website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account and profile data: name, mobile phone number, email address, role (client, barber, student barber, or shop), and portfolio content you upload.
• Booking data: appointment times, selected services, and booking history.
• Device and usage data: device type, app version, and basic diagnostic logs.
• Location, payment, contacts, and camera roll data: described in the sections below.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to operate bookings and checkout, verify accounts, send transactional notifications, prevent fraud, provide support, comply with law, and improve the Services.

4. Location Data

With your permission, CORTE uses location to show nearby barbers and shops. For on-site Shop Boss verification, a check-in confirms the shop owner is within 100 meters of the registered shop. To protect independent garage and home barbers, their public map position is shown through a 0.5-mile coordinate privacy shield, and the exact address is released only to a client with a confirmed booking. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time.

5. Payment Data

Payments are processed securely by Stripe, including through Stripe Connect. CORTE never stores raw card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank account numbers. We receive limited payment details from Stripe, such as transaction status, amount, and the last four digits of a card. Stripe's handling of your data is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

6. Contacts & Camera Roll Permissions

CORTE requests access to your contacts only when a barber initiates a contact import, and to your camera or photo library only when you choose to upload portfolio photos or a profile picture. We do not read contacts or photos in the background, and access can be revoked in your device settings.

7. Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with: the barber or shop you book with (as needed to fulfill the appointment); service providers acting on our behalf (payments, SMS delivery, hosting, analytics); and authorities when required by law. Sharing with service providers never includes use of mobile numbers or SMS consent data for marketing, as stated in Section 3.

8. Children's Privacy / COPPA

CORTE is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Kids Cuts appointments must be booked by a parent or legal guardian, and the Parent/Guardian contact is required for the booking. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Data Retention and Security

We retain information while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and dispute purposes, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, though no system is completely secure.

10. Account & Data Deletion Rights

You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing founder@corteapp.net or using the request form at /support. We will verify your identity and complete the request within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law. You may also request access to or correction of your information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy and will post the new effective date here. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
